Torch
Fired Enameling
Sunday November 17th - 11am to 2pm
Price $65
Ticket
Link
Enameling is the process of fusing powdered glass material
to metal to give it a smooth colored glass coating. You
can combine colors to create an ombre effect, add wire to
the surface to add texture and design, and so much more!
In this workshop you'll learn the proper techniques of cutting,
filing, cleaning and prepping the metal for the enameling
process. You'll then have the rest of the class to play
with the enameling techniques I'll teach you. You'll leave
with several beautiful pieces. Some people use a kiln to
enamel, but as purchasing a kiln can be expensive, I like
to teach the skill using a propane torch. It's much more
affordable to set up, and has some advantages over working
with a kiln.
